 Mise en Place Kitchen focuses on the training, development and project-based employment of culinary specialists. We are passionate about food and people.

 

 Based on your needs, we provide professional and trained staff for several areas in the event branche. From cash and coin sales, employees F&B and coordination F&B outlets, to runners and entrance scanners.

 Mise en Place Logistics provides all non-food related support for several types of events. Mise en Place Logistics gives an answer to almost all your logistical staffing requests and assures you solutions from A-Z.

STORYTELLING

 Every great company once started in a garage…

… and Mise en Place is no exception. We have developed from a tiny group in Maastricht (The Netherlands) in 1994, into a fully grown organisation making its mark on the hospitality industry. Yet despite great changes, we have always stuck by the samen ethos since the start, encouraged a friendly work environment and created “synergy”. It is because of this that we have managed to establish an elaborate international  network of partners and talents, all of whom have a passion for what they do.

This organisation was only able to develop and expand because of the talents of its staff members. Our goal is to attract, support and invest in students who continuously strive to exceed expectations. If you have what it takes, you’ll see yourself rising through our ranks in no time. We offer our staff the opportunity to grow and discover their hidden potential. We pride ourselves in continuously bringing out the best in everyone we have the opportunity to meet. WHERE IT ALL BEGAN:

Our company began in a tiny student room on the campus of the hotel school in Maastricht. In that small space we laid the foundations for what has now become an international organisation, with all its labels and multiple networks. From the university, to a garage, to a little office on the ‘Spoorweglaan’ in Maastricht, we have pushed for high quality, well trained staff and, of course, fun.

From the beginning, we have worked to reverse the structural hierarchy of traditional companies. Our jobpers are the most important to us, and we put them first.

1995

MISE EN PLACE CATERING

For our very first events in Belgium we needed to mobilise our jobpers. That is when we bought our very first Mise en Place van.

 Mise en Place UTRECHT

 Our oldest office in The Netherlands next to our hometown office in Maastricht. After this was opened, it only took us a few more years to open many more.

Mise en Place AMSTERDAM

What started out with a few jobpers in 1997, has since then grown into a well established and diverse office. In 2017, the office split into Amsterdam and Amsterdam Zuid.

A great jobper needs to be rewarded! Our Jobpers can earn ‘Sjaakies’ through our bonus extra programme. Those coins are redeemable in several cooperating bars with 1 Sjaakie worth 1 beer.

 Given the strong connection between the Dutch offices Heerlen/Maastricht and the most western city of Germany, it was fairly easy to expand our business into another country. Our first German office was set up in Aachen.

1ST SILVER CIRCLE IN THE NETHERLANDS

The Silver Circle – or “Societé de tire Bouchon d’argent” as it was originally called – is our alumni network. The Silver Circle is the lowest level in our pyramid. After working 1000 jobhours, every jobper is awarded a silver waiter’s friend and becomes part of our Silver Circle. Here our young students get the chance to meet the older generations of Mise en Place who now work as doctors, lawyers, marketers etc…

MISE EN PLACE EVENTS THE NETHERLANDS

As a result of an increase in bookings for larger festival events and concerts, Mise en Place took the opportunity to offer students convenient jobs during the summer. The demand was so high that we were able to launch a specialised label to cater for this section of the hospitality industry.

CUISE EN PLACE

We launched our specialism “kitchen”. Back then named Cuise en Place, nowadays just Cuise.

1ST MFWHBRT

The Mega Funky White Hype Bebe Röem Tour was a winter sport tour for our talents of the whole organisation. Back then it was the precursor of Inflow (2013) and was organised more than 12 times. The revival of the “Wintersport” in 2018 has the purpose of thanking the entire company for their hard work over the past years.

The European triple was completed. Since 2002 The Netherlands, Germany and Belgium form a strong foundation in the west of Europe.

Our jobpers play an essential role in shaping the future success of our company. We have a series of “International Multiple Power Weekends” aimed at addressing their concerns and collecting feedback from them. We are an organisation that strives to be the best and we are continually finding new ways to evolve, redevelop and redesign ourselves in order to tackle challenges and seize opportunities.

CHIEF FUN OFFICER

Fun is one of our main company values and according to our jobpers probably the most important one. To ensure and improve the fun in all aspects of the organisation we decided to create the position of the CFO (Chief Fun Officer).

In order to support our project managers and offer them future career opportunities, we created the Project Managers Groep. It now functions as a successful way to advance our well trained project managers in the industry.

STAFFABLE PAYROLL

We noticed that our partners needed a way to process their payrolls, so we developed a company that focusses on taking care of all payroll related issues for our future hospitality partners and business relations.

1ST SUMMER6CAMP

Eagle vs Lions! Our first internal football tournament between our Heerlen and Aachen offices (Eagles vs. Lions) was so popular that, over the last 15 years, it has grown into a huge sport, entertainment and music festival with over 1000 visitors annually. Our offices from all over Europe compete in an international tournament to win the six game championship and attain international glory.

Each year we try to focus on a new theme. The theme for our first year was 200B.- Binnen halen, Boeien, Binden, Behouden”, which means: to attain, inspire, train and retain our talents. It was so successful that more than 10 years later we can still feel its impact.

We heard the mountains of Vienna calling our names, and in 2007 Austria became a reality. We are now the proud owner of our very own Mise en Place Office in the capital.

Q-Staff was founded as an internal organisation that focused on developing our very own Mise en Place Academy. Nowadays Q-staff improves the human talent development of other organisations within the hospitality industry.

CUISE

In 2009, we changed our kitchen brand name to Cuise and from then on, we continued to develop this in The Netherlands. That same year we also produced our first “Culinary Inspiration”: a booklet full of fabulous recipes contributed by some of the leading chefs in our partner companies.

Mise en Place is in the transition of redeveloping itself as a learning organisation. We are focusing on the people because we believe that developing their skills will, in turn, develop our company.
